BREAST SURGERY: ENHANCEMENT AND REDUCTION FOR NATURAL AND HARMONIOUS BEAUTY

Breast surgery involves a series of procedures that a woman can follow to feel better. These include augmentation mammoplasty, reduction mammoplasty, post-oncological breast reconstruction with prostheses, autologous fat and microsurgical flaps, mastopexy with and without prostheses, tuberous breast and breast asymmetry.

The best specialists perform this intervention in our cosmetic surgery clinic in Ibiza. We invite you to discover them in detail.

Types of breast surgery

Breast surgery, as such, is a surgical procedure used to change the size, shape or appearance of the breasts.

Every woman has her reasons for having it done, as it can be for medical, aesthetic, or both.

There are different types of interventions within this category. But, each case is unique, and it is important to talk to the plastic surgeon about the options available and possible complications.

These are the body surgery treatments we perform in Ibiza:

Augmentation mammoplasty

Augmentation mammoplasty, also known as breast augmentation surgery or breast implants, is a surgical procedure in which breast implants are placed in the breast to increase its size and improve its shape.

These implants can be silicone or saline and placed under the breast tissue or the pectoral muscle.

Mammoplasty aims to increase the size of the breasts, to improve proportion to the body, to improve appearance or to increase self-esteem.

Reduction mammoplasty

In the opposite wing to augmentation mammoplasty, we find reduction mammoplasty. It is recommended for women with too large breasts and looking to achieve a more proportionate size, which will help alleviate back problems and/or improve their self-esteem.

This procedure removes excess breast tissue, fat and skin. It can also be performed in conjunction with a breast lift procedure.

POST-ONCOLOGY BREAST RECONSTRUCTION WITH PROSTHESES, AUTOLOGOUS FAT AND MICROSURGICAL FLAPS

Breast reconstruction surgery is a surgical procedure performed after a mastectomy (breast removal) due to breast cancer.

The goal of post-oncology breast reconstruction is to restore the original size and shape of the removed breast, to improve the appearance and to restore self-esteem, as it can be challenging for a woman.

It can be done in various ways, depending on the case. For example, we perform reconstruction in our clinic with prostheses, autologous fat and microsurgical flaps.

Mastopexy with and without PROSTHESES

Another breast surgery is mastopexy. It is a procedure known as a breast lift intended to improve the shape of sagging or drooping breasts.

In mastopexy with prostheses, a breast implant is placed together with the breast lift. In this way, the size of the breasts is increased, and the shape of the breasts is improved simultaneously.

While mastopexy without prostheses consists of making an incision in the breast and removing excess skin and breast tissue, the areola is repositioned, and the breast tissue is lifted to improve the shape of the breast.

In both cases, the aim is to improve the appearance of the breasts and achieve a firmer and more youthful shape. Depending on the results the patient wishes to achieve.

Tuberous Breast

A tuberous breast has an abnormal or “tubular” shape due to abnormal development of the breast tissues.

They are usually smaller than average and have a conical shape, with a reasonably large areola and a small distance between the breasts. They may also lack symmetry or even a bulge in the sub-mammary fold.

This surgical procedure improves the shape of abnormal breasts and gives them a more natural and symmetrical appearance. This involves correcting the irregular shape of the breasts, reducing the size of the areola and improving its position.

Each case can be treated differently depending on the individual woman.

The fat is aspirated through cannulas and then injected at other sites. For example, it can increase the size of the breasts or buttocks.

Breast asymmetry

Breast asymmetry refers to breasts that are of different sizes or shapes. This can occur for various reasons, either due to uneven development of the breast tissue, a difference in the size of the breast ducts, or the size of the areolae.

This problem can be of a mild or severe nature. But above all, it can cause physical and psychological issues for women. For example, difficulty in finding clothes that fit or self-esteem problems.

In this surgical procedure, a more symmetrical appearance can be achieved, and different types of surgery can be performed, such as breast reduction, breast lift, and breast implant placement, among others.
